Hobbies
I'm a creative, persistent, positive teacher/tutor who adapts to the ages, subject needs, and personalities of my students. I have worked with everyone from preschoolers to adult ed learners in their 90s. Whether students struggle due to learning differences, are afraid of schoolwork (low esteem in academic subjects), are perfectionistic "high achievers," got behind and need to catch up in classwork, suffer from text anxiety, or just want to improve in their courses, I'll be happy to help. All learning styles are welcome. I'm a writer who also loves ceramics, theatre, dance, music, printmaking, science, African drumming, singing, camping, cooking, international relations, and learning about new topics. Kayaking, swimming, and hiking are a few of my favorite summer activities. In junior high and high school I played softball and field hockey. I also played flute. And…I have lived in 13 states, from Maine to California.
